Frangipani on the other hand ranges from a pure white, through a hint of yellow to deep pink. Frangipani is everywhere in Rarotonga and is the scent that will often greet you at the airport! Frangipani was the name of an Italian perfume used to scent gloves in the 16th century and named after its creator, the Marquis Frangipani. When the frangipani flower was discovered its natural aroma reminded people of the scented gloves, and so the flower was called frangipani. Frangipani is a heady, romantic fragrance full of sea breeze.
